Provided expert opinions, claim interpretations, examined means structures, for a case involving a portable test instrument. Worked with attorney Mike Heafey of Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe.

 

Inwood International v. Wal-Mart 1998, disclosed, for plaintiff, settled

Provided expert opinions and claim charts for a case involving a computer game patent infringement. Worked with attorney Earnest Kettelson of Kettelson Law Offices.

 

Zenith Data Systems v. Compaq 1996-7, undisclosed, for plaintiff, settled

Provided expert opinions on a case involving computer parallel port patent infringement. Created parallel port hardware and software to prove infringement. Worked with attorney Jim Sprowl of Fitch Even Tabin & Flannery, now at Foley & Lardner. Also worked with Jim Yoon of Wilson Sonsini.

 

M.T. McBrian v. Liebert 1995-8, disclosed, for plaintiff, settled

Provided expert opinions on a case involving HVAC controls. Analyzed hardware and software. Worked with Bob Queeney of McBride, Baker & Coles, Tony DiVencenzo of Campbell & DiVencenzo, against Bob McAughan and David Owen of AWD.

Provided expert opinion to Laser Computer in Lake Zurich regarding their brand of Apple Computer clones. Worked with attorney Jim Sprowl of Fitch Even Tabin & Flannery.

Rendered expert opinions in court about heat build-up in Ohio Scientific Computers.

 

Patent Experience

 

Some of my designs have been patented. On several occasions I have gone to the main Patent Office in Washington DC to perform patent searches, and to review the current state of the art in several fields. I have become familiar and comfortable with the language used to make Patent Claims.
